Phonetastic GSM Ends the Third Quarter of 2021 with a 210.3 M Lei Turnover

• The company reports a 9 Mo net profit of 2.99 M Lei, up from the 2.7 M Lei recorded at the end-Q3 2020
• Phonetastic eyes a 10% growth in turnover and a 7% net profit hike at the end of 2021
• The UK, The Netherlands, and Romania rank first by share of turnover
• The smartphones category rakes up to 84.16% of the total company turnover

Bucharest, November 2, 2021 – Phonetastic GSM, a Romanian company active on European smartphones, accessories, and IT equipment, today announces a turnover of 210.3 million Lei for the first nine months of the year, up 23.3% from the 170.5 million Lei reported in the same period of 2020.

„The positive evolution of the indicators is mostly supported by the smartphones category, but also by the sales growth of the other product lines in the portfolio – wearables, gadgets, and smart devices. While we’re already in the fourth quarter, we can estimate a 10% increase in turnover and a 7% increase in net profit, compared to the last year. We are, however, aware that the current global component crisis could have its effects seen by the end of the year, especially in terms of production difficulties for major brands, supply chain uncertainties, and transport delays,” said Radu Pojoga, CEO, Phonetastic GSM.

The company registered, at nine months, a net profit of 2.99 million Lei, up from the 2.7 million Lei reported at the end of the third quarter of 2020.

For the first time, Romania enters the top 3 by share of the aggregate turnover, with 9.3%. The ranking is still led by the United Kingdom, with transactions unaffected by the Brexit and a volume of 27.7% of the Phonetastic business, followed by the Netherlands, with 10.6%. As of September 30, 2021, Phonetastic GSM sells telecommunications and electro-IT products and accessories in over 32 countries, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain.

In the same period, the smartphone category reaches a share of 84.16% of the total turnover, up by 3 percentage points versus the first three quarters of 2020.
